A few dancey tracks for dancing and whatnot

It goes without saying that we all like a dosage of vacuous, nonsensical dance music every now and again. I for one, require such a hit at least three or four times a day, especially during riveting lectures on vector subspaces or whatever.

Anyways, here are a few fantastic tunes full of pep, synths that go “whoooowhooowhoo” and bass. So much bass.

The Saturdays – Not Giving Up

Oh man, is this a great club thumper or what? I may be biased as a Saturdays fan, but this song is really one of their best – just a shame that it may remain an obscure album track (from Living for the Weekend) that only fans will seek out. It must also be said that their vocals all sound great on this track, from Rochelle’s deep, seductive tone to Mollie’s sweet, soprano highs in the second verse. It’s awesome.

Little Mix – Move (The Alias Radio Edit)

I have to give credit to The Alias, they turn everything that was pop gold into pop-dance platinum. Remix after remix is consistently grand, whether it be Demi Lovato’s Heart Attack or Girls Aloud’s last single (*single manly teardrop*) Something New. Oh and, Little Mix sound fantastic as per usual. Not that I’m a fangirl or anything.

Parov Stelar – Booty Swing

Swinghouse is a divine mishmash of four-to-the-floor house beats with old jazz choons, and Parov Stelar is one of the foremost producers within this joyously niche genre. Once you dig a little deeper within this genre, you find some real gems, but this quirky style has already captured the world’s attention.

Mumford & Sons – I Will Wait (Unlike Pluto Remix)

Some may believe that certain forms of music should possess a dignity which places them above being remixed, but Unlike Pluto shows that even the most delicate folk fused songs can be transformed into rather pretty and lively club tracks. It was a tough choice between this remix and Unlike Pluto’s reworking of Lana Del Rey’s Young and Beautiful, but this track wins on sheer originality.

So there are a few exciting tracks to get your day, night, study session, workout… whatever it is started.

Fuck, I’m tired.
